The Reds began their first season in 2005 sponsored by Strike Zone a baseball training facility in The Sodo District. The two Reds teams competed in The 18 yr old and 16 yr old divisions of the Mount Rainier Babe Ruth League. The 18 yr old team under the guidance of Coach Queen placed 5th in The Washington State Senior Babe Ruth Tournament. The 16 yr old team placed 3rd in The Washington State 16 and under Babe Ruth Tournament. The 2008 Strike Zone Reds Team under Coach Queen placed 4th in The 16u Washington State Mickey Mantle Tournament. 2010, The Strike Zone Reds became The Columbia City Reds with the closure of Strike Zone and Coach Queen moving to The K Center in Columbia City. 2011, The Columbia City Reds had 2 teams; 12u and 13 u with coach Queen at the helm of both teams. The teams were comprised of players who played for their respective Little League and Pony League Teams and The Reds in Tournaments and weekend games. 2012, the Columbia City Reds grew to 4 teams; 10u, 12u, 13u, and 14u. The 10u and 12u teams continued to play games on the weekends and in tournaments. The 10 u team was successful in two tournaments making it to the semifinals. The 14u team finished 4th in The Washington State Sandy Koufax Tornament. The 2013 season saw the Reds grow to five teams 9u, 11u, 12u, 14u, and 15u. The 11u Reds made it to the semifinal of one tournament and The 14U Reds finished 3rd In The Washington State Sandy Koufax Tournament. Many players on the 11u Reds just finished a successful Little League season winning The District 7 Championship for Rainier District Little League and finishing 6th at The Washington State Little League 10-11 yr old All StarTournament in Gig Harbor. The All Star team was coached by Ron Queen. Currently the Reds are doing indoor training at The K Center on Saturday’s and weekday’s.
